There are so many different aspects of cruising and selecting the right ship for you. Do you want big or small, modern or glamorous do the ports matter? So many questions and yes so many posts out there with so many opinions.

But now you have settled on the Seascape or have narrowed it down as one of your choices so what is it really like? Because I know you may have specific questions related to a single topic I have included a Table of Contents to fast track your experience.

Prioritizing Crowd Control and Passenger Safety

While being the largest or one of the largest in the MSC Fleet today, the MSC Seascape’s deck plan is meticulously designed to prioritize crowd control and ensure passenger comfort and safety. The layout of public areas, including lounges, restaurants, and entertainment venues, appears to be strategically organized to facilitate smooth traffic flow and minimize congestion.

Additionally, safety measures such as clearly marked emergency exits, hand sanitizing stations, and trained staff members are in place to ensure the well-being of passengers at all times.

We were so very surprised by how “not crowded” the MSC decks and lounges were. At times it seemed like we were the only ones on the ship or at least on a much smaller vessel.

A Variety of Cabins to Suit Every Preference

Like all of the MSC Ships MSC Seascape offers a diverse range of cabins to suit every preference and budget. From cozy interior cabins to spacious suites with private balconies, there’s an option for every type of traveler. Bella, Fantastica and Aurea are the three main”experiences on MSC.

We booked the Aurea experience so most of my impressions will be based on that. The Aurea experience is one of several cruise packages that guests can choose from when they book their MSC cruise. Of the three options (excluding Yacht Club, which is separate), it is the best option, giving guests the best choice of accommodation and various other perks.

The Yacht Club experience elevates the cruising experience to new heights, offering exclusive amenities such as private lounges, dedicated butler service, and access to premium dining venues.

Dining Options to Delight the Palate

Guests aboard MSC Seascape are spoiled for choice when it comes to dining options. From casual buffet-style dining to gourmet specialty restaurants, there’s something to satisfy every craving. One of the interesting dining options is that there is not just one or two large dining rooms for the evening meal. MSC Seascape has 4 larger dining areas with 4 dining times.

This helps create the atmosphere of being on a much smaller ship. Green Wave Restaurant, Cala Jondal Restaurant, Aegean Restaurant and Skyline Restaurant are the dining options. Please note you will be assigned to one dining area with a set time unless you are in the Aurea Class. Then you will have anytime dining in the Aegean Restaurant. Yacht Club members have their own special dining area

The specialty restaurants stand out with their unique culinary offerings and upscale ambiance, providing guests with a memorable dining experience. There are five specialty restaurants on the MSC Seascape. We personally did not test them out but the ambiance and decor were impeccable.

A Few Pros and Cons of Cruising on MSC Seascape

Based on reviews I have read and our personal experience, cruising on MSC Seascape has many pros and cons. Some of the many benefits include elegant onboard decor, diverse dining options, and attentive service. However, some other passengers have reported issues with crowded public areas and slow embarkation processes.

Interestingly we did not experience those cons. That could be because we were in Aurea class which has a special area for dining and sunbathing, plus priority embarkation and de-embarkation. We were off the ship and in our hotel room sleeping by 9:30 in the morning.

I heard a few complaints about the bar service as well, but my big tip,if one seems crowded take a stroll there will always be another bar with less people not to far away.

Itinerary and Ports of Call

MSC Seascape sails to a variety of destinations, including the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, and the Caribbean. Ports of call may vary depending on the itinerary, for us we toured the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

Our first week we hit Ochos Rios, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and the private Island of Ocean Cay. The second week was Nassau, San Juan, Puerto Plata and Ocean Cay again. Every itinerary with MSC in the Caribbean hits Ocean Cay

I have heard a few rumors that the MSC Seascape may soon be re-located to ship out of Galveston. That will change the vibe of the ship and most likely the ports of call

Inclusions in the MSC Seascape Cruise Fare and Additional Charges

The cruise fare of MSC Seascape typically includes accommodations, meals, onboard entertainment, and access to most amenities. However, additional charges may apply for specialty dining, shore excursions, alcoholic beverages, and spa treatments.

Currently there are a lot of sales and special inclusions so shop around. Most sales seem to be including the Easy Plus drink package, wi-fi for one device and an on board credit. My recommendation is don’t book if the drink package is not included, just wait for a sale that covers this.

In addition there is also a “Hotel gratuity” charge of 100.00 per person per week. This is typical across the cruise lines and MSC’s fee is one of the lowest but still an additional charge.

Passenger Demographics and Pricing

A diverse range of passengers sail on MSC Seascape, including couples, families, and solo travelers. The majority of passengers are typically adults aged 30-60, although families with children are also common. I read one review before our cruise that indicated this was a ” Family Cruise” ship. Truth be told I did not find that this was anymore “family” than any other cruise. Let’s be frank when they offer kids for free or 3rd and 4th passengers for free you are going to get families.

The one issue I ddi have on the ship is the fact that the passengers sometimes think their kids are welcome anywhere. I don’t want to go to a lounge at 10:00 and see your toddlers running around. This how, ever is not unique to MSC or the Seascape, that is passengers in general. I wish cruise lines were a bit more ” restrictive” on Club and lounge access.

MSC Seascape cruises starting from $349 can be found through various booking channels, with options available at this price point for select sailings.

Cost and Factors Affecting Overall Expenses for MSC

The cost of a cruise aboard MSC Seascape varies depending on factors such as cabin category, sailing date, itinerary, and any additional amenities or services chosen.

Booking early, taking advantage of promotions, and opting for off-peak sailings can help reduce overall expenses.

Onboard Amenities, Entertainment, and Activities

MSC Seascape offers a wealth of onboard amenities, entertainment, and activities to keep passengers entertained throughout their voyage. From Broadway-style shows and live music performances to fitness classes and spa treatments, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

One caution, the Seascape has two mid size theaters not one really large theater. Seating is very limited and you must book in advance. Reservations are required and can only be made 24 hours in advance.

There are many other clubs/Lounges offering entertainment if you are not a “Show” person like us. Shows are offered every evening on Deck 5 and can be seen from decks 5,6 and 7. Plus there is a Dueling Piano show several nights on every sailing on Deck 6 in Times Square.

Not to be overlooked, a very modern gym, water slides, basketball/soccer and pickle ball area, kids play areas, Interesting point though the MSC Seascape curiously lacks a jogging path.

For the kids we have The Doremiland Kids Club. And on the Seascape it is one of the largest in the fleet. The club is divided into six distinct areas: The Studio, Juniors Club, Mini Club, Baby Club Chicco, Young Club and Teen Club. Though not strictly a component of Doremiland, there is a video arcade Hall Games sits adjacent to the kids club, as does Pirates Cove AquaPark.

Spa and Thermal Area on the MSC Seascape

The MSC Seascape has a very extensive spa area. It includes a Hair Salon, Barber Shop, nail and make-up areas and a Thermal Spa.

MSC Aurea Spa is also home to the expansive Thermal Suite. Offering a host of interesting therapies that rely on temperature manipulation and includes a salt room, snow room, scrub room, Finnish sauna, soft sauna, blower pool, Mediterranean bath, vertical Kneipp, and steam room.

Thermal Suite passes are included for passengers staying in Aurea and Yacht Club cabins, You can also purchase a day or weekly pass. Honestly one of my favorite parts of the cruise, daily Thermal Spa visits.

For me, the MSC Seascape offers a luxurious and unforgettable cruise experience, with a variety of amenities, dining options, and entertainment choices to suit every traveler’s preferences. Whether you’re seeking relaxation, adventure, or cultural exploration, MSC Seascape promises an unparalleled journey through the world’s most captivating destinations.
