Boots and Coats- Fun Winter Style

Stretching for Seniors

Well look at this a true return to my roots kind of post. Covid is over, this gal has retired and now it is time to share some style. Sounds like an oxymoron, fifnish work and start re-posting fashion. On a serious note though the Blog Babe is back and I am kicking it off with some fun Winter Boots and Coats.

No big secret here, I live in Canada, Ontario to be precise and that means winter in true Canadian Fashion (no pun intended, or totally intended actually). Sharing three of my favourite winter coats and three awesome boots as well.

My Three Repeat Winter Coats

So I am not going to fib, while I am sharing my three fav coats I may have a few others or lots others I also love and adore. OK I have lots of coats and boots but the three I am sharing today all have been frequent flyers this season. Sadly all three are from previous years but I will try and link some similar ones in case you are interested.

The first one I am sharing is the oldest of the three. A complete accidental purchase that has become an adored coat. Who knew Shoe Dazzle would have such awesome winter attire, not this gal that is for sure but this purchase convinced me to start shopping more than shoes and boots on that site.

December 2019 I ordered this Plaid Double Breasted Coat and did not know what to expect. For sizing purposes I do find Shoe Dazzle runs a tad small on clothes so I ordered an XL. It fit perfectly.

Red Plaid and Leopard

You have seen this coat before on the blog, mostly because I purchased it in 2019 while I was still sharing regular fashion/style posts. Good Lord it feels great to be back. While the Shoe Dazzle Coat is no longer available on their site, search poshmark and etsy maybe some crazy person is tired of it.

I adore pairing it with leopard accessories and on non snow days a fun black fashion boot. Today I opted for my Kamiks because the snow is crazy.

Feline Fine in my Next Coat

Next great find, the Jillian Harris/Joe Fresh Collab from 2020. I seriously do not know how I got so lucky and managed to snag one of these. If you follow Jillian Harris you will know that this coat sold in im seconds after hitting the site.

This coat (short similar version) is not only stunning ( I get stopped everytime I wear it) but also transitions for three seasons. I purchased the underlining that takes this coat from Late fall to full winter wear. It has zippered pockets as wel as a hood. The thinsulate material also allows this to pack up very nicely, great for travel as well.

This coat has taken me to the office, to football games and yes even travel to the north. I usually pair with pink or red accessories to add a great spalsh of colour. Today my new Keen Boots are making their first appearance.

Winter lasts Furever in Canada

My final selection to round off my fav coats is another Joe Fresh/Jillian Harris Collab. Yep this gal is addicted to both JH and JF, I mean take a look at my Instagram its pretty darn obvious. 2021 was one of my “furavourite” years. A stunning cream/blush fur coat perfect for dress up or even casual if you love to be noticed.

Wearing this coat always makes me feel a tad glamourous. Regardless of what is underneath, it makes me feel special. I have paired the coat with cream denim, black leggings and yes even a gold sequin number.

Today I am pairing it with a pair of Cougar boots I have owned for years. Again the snow is truly dictating how this gal is styling herself. Little leopard scarf, sunglasses cuz it is bright and this gal is ready for anything.

FUN Fact: Totally unintentially all three footwear companies I have shared are Canadian but most do ship to the US and Europe.

What about Winter Boots?

The coats always make a statement, it might be the first thing that everyone notices but the boots, well they matter. Without a lot of snow I often wear fashion boots when heading out. Maybe a fun OTK low heeled boot, a stylish lugsole moto boot or even a fun shoe, but not this year.

Snow is real and it is a lot and it is awfully cold. Find a fun boot that keeps your feet warm and can go with anything. Also don’t get preoccupied with fashionable vs the practical. It’s winter, you take your boots off when you go inside and can always carry a pair of indoor shoes to match your look. Trust me frostbitten toes will not make any outfit shine.

My Kamik Boots

My Kamiks are a true essential boot in my life. Perfect for Canadian winters and yep also great for tailgating. They are tried and tested and can withstand winter at the Jets stadium and yep even in Buffalo. I have worn these babies to many a football game. FYI Kamik is a great Canadian Company operating for over 120 years and they believe not just in keeping our feet warm but sustainable manufacturing.

Waterproof seam-sealed construction keeps out the wet elements. 200g 3M™ Thinsulate insulation for serious warmth in serious conditions. Temperature comfort rated to -40ºF/-40ºC. Fleece lining for additional interior warmth and comfort. Removable EVA insole with antibacterial treatment for a comfortable and odor-free environment. Heel counter lug for easy removal and snowshoe strap retention. ICEKISS dual-density synthetic rubber outsole for excellent traction.

keen boots

I am Keen about these Boots

OK, PUNNY Linda is back. My next fav boots are new to me this year. I actually won an Instagram contest for a free pair of Keen Winter Boots. I adore Keens motto Consciously Created for a better Planet. How awesome is that.

My choice was the Greta Tall Classic Waterproof Winter Boot. And another pair of snuggly boots perfect for hiking, walking or just general winter wear.

  • WATERPROOF: KEEN.DRY waterproof, breathable membrane keeps your feet dry in wet terrains; The Greta boot has a mesh liner that integrates with the waterproof membrane
  • INSULATED: KEEN.WARM made from recycled PET plastic with 200G insulation helps keep feet warm in temperatures down to -25° F / -32° C, but still allows feet to breathe
  • ICE GRIP & WARMTH: KEEN.FREEZE outsole for cold weather reduces rubber hardness and improves flexibility while walking on snow or ice; Heat-reflecting board provides a thermal barrier
cougar white winter boots

Today I am a Cougar (or sharing Cougars)

My final choice for winter boots ( and not third choice because they are all equal) is my White Cougar Boot. I have owned these for several years, Actually I cannot remember when I got them maybe 2016 or 17 but they became a must to wear everywhere. Fun, stylish and oh so warm.

My cougars are no longer available but I did find a similar pair on Amazon. The Dream Pairs look very similar to my.

Holy Moly, that felt great actually sharing on the blog what I am wearing in real life. Instagram is great but truth be told for me BLOGS are BETTER.

and now this gal is once again heading outside to shovel AGAIN. I dont think this snow is ever going to stop but het that will make the cruise in 12 days even more enjoyable.
