Fall is upon us, which means tailgating and football games. It also means tasty apps and fun snack foods. Enter Air Fryer Taco Chicken Wings, yep you heard that right. Combining two tasty treats into one.
Are you a big fan of Air Fryer recipes? I am just starting to explore that style and really enjoying the fact that the time and mess are minimal. Check out my Air Fryer S’mores for a tasty Tailgate dessert. Like I said no mess lol.
Air Fryer Taco Chicken Wings
Chicken wings done in the air fryer are so quick and easy. And so much less mess than the traditional wings in the oven. Toss the wings in the fryer, add the seasoning and press the button. Seriously it is as easy as that.
Interesting tip, make sure the wings are not just thawed but room temperature. Allows them to cook evenly.
Ingredients for Air Fryer Taco Chicken Wings
Time to get the grocery list ready or quite possibly you already have all these items on hand. I know we always have wings in the freezer and taco seasoning, well we buy that in bulk.
- • 12 Chicken Wings
- • Salt
- • Pepper
- • 1/4 Cup Melted Butter
- Taco Seasoning
Time to “Air Fry” the Wings
Wings in the air fryer are so quick and easy. But as I said before make sure the wings are not cold nor frozen. It makes for a much better experience.
- Pre-heat air fryer to 390 degrees.
- Take the chicken wings out of the refrigerator and let them reach room temperature.
- Pat dry with a paper towel.
- Coat with melted butter. If you prefer a more “healthy” wing, you can swap the butter for 0 calorie cooking spray.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Place on air frying rack and air fry for 20 minutes.
- Remove from air fryer and lightly coat with more butter & then sprinkle with taco seasoning to your liking.
- Place back in air fryer for 5 minutes or until wings reach your desired crispy-ness.
TIPS FOR MAKING WINGS IN THE AIR FRYER:
- If you have a smaller air fryer, you may need to cook the wings in batches.
- add your favorite seasonings to the wings, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
- If you want to make buffalo wings instead of taco, toss the cooked wings with your favorite hot sauce and butter sauce.
- Serve the wings immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
